"We loved staying at Casa de Olmedo, beautiful, secure, and cozy apartment, with fantastic views of Colonial Quito you can enjoy while having breakfast in the morning, or simply hanging out in the balcony. Well eqquiped kitchen perfect to entertain friends and family coming over, the fireplace was really helpful for the tipycal cold nights of Quito, it also gave the apartment that cozy feeling of being at home. The only minor thing wed change would be the twin sizes beds for a queen size bed, we managed to put the beds together and have a "comfy"queen size bed. Overall Casa de Olmedo gave us the opportunitty to go back to a place close to our hearts, it was a wonderful experience for us and we definitely are coming back"

I have stayed in good hotels and apartments all over the world and this was one of my favorites. I could not have made a better choice in Quito. It was well worth the price."

"This apartment is located in the Old Town, at the top of a steep hill behind the historic and beautiful Basillica Church. We stayed two weeks and enjoyed every minute. The beautiful rooftop terrace has fantastic views and a nice table with umbrella and chairs. Of course, it does rain many afternoons in Quito, so be sure to have breakfast and/or lunch on the terrace, since it may not be a great locale for supper. :-) An easy cab ride takes you anywhere into either Old or New Town and back, for only a dollar or two. Very centrally located and quiet, so no problem with late night noise from partying, as you might find in the Mariscal or other, more central, parts of Old Town. The apartment itself is charming, with a full kitchen, dining room, living room, and three bedrooms. Simple, but everything you need for a great, affordable, and very pleasant stay in Quito. Also, no problem with hot water showers, which I understand is frequently an issue in Ecuador. In addition, the management is very accessible and receptive (although its not all that easy to find the rental office itself), so if there are any problems with the house, you can except immediate help. Highly recommend! and would certainly come back if I plan another Quito visit."

"Great apartment. Upon arrival a nice fruit basket and bottled water was provided. Great after a long day of travel to have the food available. I stayed a month. Quiet, clean, comfortable, efficient. Public transportation available right outside. Only a short walk to all the interesting sights in Old City. Management was polite and professional, met all my needs and questions promptly. I travel a lot and this was one of the nicer places Ive stayed."

"Very good option to visit Colonial Quito. Very secured. The kitchen is perfect. Beds are very comfortables. A bit cold during the night but it seems a common charactiristics of old colonial houses. The fireplace was necessary and very usefull."

"Cozy extra large second floor apartment in Old town. Excellent choice for a visiting family. The apartment has a perfect location behind the "Basilica." Access is off a family oriented pedestrian alleyway. The street in front has a park, small food stores, bakery and restaurants. Using the well equipped kitchen we prepared several of our own meals after bargaining at the local open air market a few blocks away. The roof top terrace is wonderful. Perfect for watching the sunset with a glass of wine while listening to the Cathedral bells. Traveling to a foreign Country with 4 people can be a challenging experience. The Staff of Colonial Ecuador made our visit easy. We will be back. "

"The condo unit is lovely. There is plenty of hot and cold water in a great shower. The bed sleeps great. It has a very nice and firm mattress. There is a great patio with furniture and a great view. The host is very accommodating and extremely helpful. He has maps showing you where the good restaurants and pricing. They will pick you up at the airport and take you to the condo for $20. This is the pricing for one person. The building is well secured. When someone tries to buzz in, a picture of that person shows up. The neighbors in the building are nice as well. I felt very at home here and welcomed by the host and neighbors. I would definately stay here again. I highly recommend this condo to anyone and everyone. "

"We stay at places all over the world and this one was really great. Architecturally interesting, well-located, secure, well-priced. We would have liked a few more cooking supplies and basic staples like salt and pepper but those things are minor. We rcommend Casa de Olmedo wholeheartedly. "Casa de Olmedo is an apartment of quality. The attention to design, the materials, fixtures, appliances, the art on the walls, and the books in the bookshelves, all demonstrated quality. I thought of Robert Persigs theory about "the metaphysics of quality" while residing in this lovely loft condo. It is located absolutely in the heart of Colonial Quito with the Presidential Palace only a couple of blocks away, but once youre in the complex, there is a lovely quiet courtyard that feels like a different world than the bustling street outside. The building has a 24 hour guard, and we always felt safe. 1-4 people who want to live in the heart of Colonial Quito cant go wrong with this fantastic accommodation for a reasonable price."
