Review for: San Blas Apartment 37 (9092)
"Absolutely great location - and secure, too with a locked gate and a security guard. A little noisy outside sometimes - lots of activity on the two main streets - but I was able to block out some of it by keeping the windows closed, and closing the bedroom door. Prompt, professional and courteous service - ask for Juan for your airport transfers! Hope to go back next year!"
"We came to Quito for the start of our honeymoon and absolutely loved the loft! It was beautiful, spatious, clean, and wonderfully decorated. It was close to the main plaza in old town and banks, restaurants, supermarkets, and other main attractions. I would absolutely stay there again if given the chance." |
Review for: El Porton Suite (37768)
"Stayed at the Apartment in May, and was very satisfied overall. The apartment is very clean and modern, everything worked well. All the photos on the accomodation were accurate and recent, as it was exactly as described. All the cutlery and kitchen bits and peices you could want are there and ready to go. The TV didnt have a good signal, however wasnt a problem as we were always out. There was an internet router ready for connection via wireless, but unfortunately i left the laptop at home. The bedroom is very comfortable with loads of space and clean sheets/covers. The toilet and bathroom exeeded my expectations as everything worked well. The security guards were great, very helpful and cheerful all the time. Access to the apartment was via a secure gate to which you had a key, but if you forgot it the security guards would let you in (once they know you). The garden outside in the courtyard was beutiful, and maintained every day by the guards. All in all, considering the stress we had when we were in Ecuador, it was a lovely releif to have such a good apartment. " |

Review for: Benalcazar 1058 Suite (48658)
"Property was great. Clean, looks just like the pictures (a big plus in my book), really good value for the money. Hot water worked well (though ran out quickly if more than one person showered). Comfortable bed, great neighborhood and surrounding areas felt safe at night as long as you didnt stray too far from the plazas. The building was quiet and outside noises werent a problem either." |

"The property was better than the description. It is an extremely comfortable apartment. Safe, clean, modern amenities in the Centro Historico. The 24 guard and his family were very friendly and helpful. The owner was very friendly and helpful as well. Located in the heart of the old city, it was much nicer and safer than the Mariscal, with wonderful food, sights and culture in convenient walking distance. Highly recommended." |
Review for: El Porton Suite (37768)
"I was very happy with this apartment and the service of the management company. Our flight to Quito was delayed by 12 hours, but their driver Juan was still there at the airport to pick us up. The apartment itself is in a good location in the old city but far enough away from the plazas to reduce noise. It had every amenity of a modern loft, 24-hour security, and a space heater for those chilly Quito evenings. The only negative I can think of is that the hot water heater is rather small, so the shower only provides about ten minutes of hot water at a time. Overall, this is a great place, and I would not hesitate to recommend it or stay there again." |

"This is a return visit for us and we enjoyed our stay at San Blas 37. Safe, secure, private, quiet building, friendly people. San Blas is convenient for both Old Town and New Town overlooking Parque Almeida. Buses, trolleys and all kinds of shopping are close by. Historic Old Town sightseeing begins in the next street. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone. The owners are very obliging and Colonial Quito extremely helpful."

"I stayed in this apartment for 10 days. I was met promptly at the agreed upon time to receive the key. It was a cute little apartment in a perfect location. There is a Trolley stop out front (with a security guard in the evening), an Ecovia stop and a Metro bus stop each within 2 blocks. Walking to the heart of Old Town was very easy. The apartment felt very safe and I was amazed at how much was in the place (pots, pans, silverware, condiments). All I had to do was buy the groceries. Noise was not an issue and for all of my coming and going I rarely saw any of the neighbors. My deposit was fully refunded and back on my credit card 10 days after the rental ended. It was my first on-line short-term apartment rental and I dont believe I could have been more pleased. The icing on the cake was the cell phone that came with the apartment. This was a handy tool to have all week. I was all over this town for 10 days on foot, in taxis and on the Trolley, Ecovia and MetroBus (often alone) without a hint of trouble/crime. Thanks for a great stay!" |

"We stayed 6 months in this apartment and had a very nice time. It was in a great location (right at the end of a beautiful park and the beginning of the Historic Center) with public transportation very accessible. There is no major supermarket within easy walking distance, but there are plenty of mini-markets and even a big central farmers market near enough. The building is secure and the staff are incredibly friendly. We felt at home fairly quickly - which was nice seeing that we were staying so long. Overall, we will definitely stay here again if we come back to Quito and I would highly recommend the place." |

Well eqquiped kitchen perfect to entertain friends and family coming over, the fireplace was really helpful for the tipycal cold nights of Quito, it also gave the apartment that cozy feeling of being at home. Overall Casa de Olmedo gave us the opportunitty to go back to a place close to our hearts, it was a wonderful experience for us and we definitely are coming back" |

Mariscal (new town) vs Colonial Quito (old town)??????
We get asked this question by almost all of our customers who rent from us….”is it safe in Colonial Quito?”. We believe firmly the answer is “yes” but with a caveat that one has to remember that Quito is a major metropolitan city which has its problems like any other major Capitol city in the world. Nonetheless, we like to quote the popular travel publication “Lonely Planet” in its 2009 travel publication “Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands”….
“Ironically, the area with the most tourist services – Mariscal Sucre – is one of the most dangerous areas in the city, especially after around 9pm, when you should take a taxi even if you have only two blocks to walk”.
It continues…..
“The old town, once more dangerous than Mariscal, has been cleaned up and is now entirely safe as late as 10pm during the week and until around midnight on weekends. It’s well lit and the city has taken a keen interest in keeping it safe”
Once you rent from us and experience the historical area of Quito….you will see why this IS the place to stay while in Quito.
The link below each property is with an automated booking system which will allow you to view more information and availability on each rental as well as pay online.
