Countryside Real Estate Tours
Excelsior Tour offers introductory tours into the countryside region of the north/central highlands of Ecuador. Our area of expertise is within a four hour drive from Quito which encompasses the high altitude region in the inner Sierras to the subtropical region between Quito and the coast.
Our tours will are designed for three full days of touring countryside properties and believe this will provide the client with enough initial information to learn of the opportunities. The tour will be accompanied by our English speaking real estate expert and private driver.
Due to the diversity of opportunities, we have divided the sectors into four sections….
Haciendas – This literally means “working farm” in Spanish and these properties are usually made for investment in agriculture products. Sizes in property range from a minimum of 10 hectares to 800. Country Villas/Farmhouses – Typical property with less acreage and a charming existing house that either has historical character or one that may be newer in construction but rustic in design. This type of property can be used for small farming, a primary residence, or both. These types of properties also usually emphasize some type of natural beauty such as a river, valley view, waterfall or forest.
Cottages/Country retreat – Typically these are much smaller properties under one hectare and could be simple lots in the countryside or near a village. Due to the smaller size they generally are more inclined for the weekend second home or the buyer looking for ease of life with convenience. These properties usually have some existing structure for housing on the property.
Village living – Ecuador possesses many charming Colonial and older villages with a quaint way of life and ample opportunities to own a nice piece of property. This type of property offers in-town living without the noise and congestion of a larger city. The easy accessibility to the countryside from these villages is also a big attraction.
